Some of them made the vocals a bit too brittle, but not bad, and others the drums could be heard well, without interfering, but you have to have the drum tracks quieter than the others and the reverbs turned down on the voices ,as it must be the dynamics that get accentuated to much when limited or maximized. On our websites, we use the Meta Pixel. For example the Waves L2 and 元, were great on instruments. It did quiet down the guitars a bit, so am going back in manana and boost them up and then redo what I did today, hey, is that a song?įinal observation, by doing my own personal shootout of the Maximizers and Limiters, I now know which one would work well with the type of music being worked on. That W1 limiter did blow away most of the competition along with the smoothness of a Mastering Limiter series that I had in my vst folder.FabFilter ProC and Buzzmaxi, not bad either.īack to the W1 limiter.I used it in conjunction with TLS Max on the Master Buss and it "moves with the mix", as you can hear the kick drum slightly, while the bass makes its presence and little solos stand out but not too much. I have had some trouble with Reaper rendering though, even live output to disk, too loud for some reason, so I had to dial back stuff that sounded fine on play back, strange.Īnyway, I made the final mix and then maximized it trying around 12 plugins, will post results soon. ![]() I guess this is just figuring out what works a little bit at a time. ![]() Sinkmusic, yes, right on, I did have to do that. Anyone know which limiter is best for dither or which dithering option is best for Reaper, thanks ? Whoever knocks Waves 元, doesn't realize that sometimes we need to soften up or tame down sounds, and it does with its eq before the limiting and maximizing. Got to get to bed earlier, these late nights have used up too many candles and at both ends, hehe, over and out, psingman Right now, I am listening to the burnt song on the 7 maximized versions.very enlightening. I am just wondering if it is best to not use anything on the Master and use TLS Max by itself. Are most of you, using at the end of the mixing to mastering chain, or on the Master Buss? The reason I ask, is it seemed to fit there best. ![]() I do have to say, that TLS Maximizer really works well. I will post my results soon, when I get the lead vocals turned down a bit, wow, they are actually too loud, who would have thunk it. Hmm, well, mixed or rendered down my tracks on one song and then hit the wav file with SRC and with around 7 maximizers.
